Pagely Engineers will be performing online database migrations for a subset of hosted VPS sites located in the Virginia (us-east-1) region. The targeted applications are those referencing a DB_HOST containing "vps-virginia-mariadb-1". Migrations will be performed to a new Amazon Aurora RDS Cluster.

The reason for this migration is mariadb-1 has shown some signs of instance degradation. We have observed two occurrences today of the database server restarting on its own. To proactively avoid any further interruptions, we are relocating all sites to a new database cluster.

This process is performed online and should not impact the ability for your site to function. For sites with exceptionally large databases, you may see a brief 5-10 minute period of certain queries taking a long time to respond. This is temporary and will self-resolve. Cached pages will continue to serve content during the transition, as well.
