Scheduled
This maintenance does not affect customers using our VPS (Developer, Performance, and Enterprise) plans.

Pagely Engineers are preparing the Shared Hosting Cluster for the upgrade of PHP version 7.4 to 8.0. On the scheduled date, we will be performing supervised PHP upgrades on a subset of web nodes. We will be generating a Maintenance notice specific to your account under the Alerts section within Atomic with more detailed information covering the affected apps and dates. If your Maintenance alert in Atomic specifies different start and end dates from what is in this maintenance, you can consider that to be the most accurate timeline for your apps.

We encourage all of our customers to prepare for the upcoming changes by testing against PHP 8.0. The best way to do this is to download your latest site backup and boot up a local WordPress environment using MAMP (https://www.mamp.info/en/mamp/), set it to use PHP 8.0, and look for errors. If you do encounter errors in your own testing, you may reach out to our Support Team for further guidance. Generally, updating plugins and themes will resolve most issues, however you may need to make changes to custom code, or, in the case of using paid plugins, you may need to obtain an updated version from the plugin's author. Any code changes you may need to make have to be deployed prior to the start date of this maintenance.

PHP 7.4 stopped receiving security updates in November of 2022 and must be replaced with a supported version (8.0). We have performed compatibility scanning ahead of time to help ensure the most problematic sites receive ample time to remediate, while prioritizing other sites that did not fail our scans to get the upgrade sooner. If you have any questions, please to not hesitate to Contact Support; we'll be happy to help!

This maintenance applies for the web nodes web124 and web125, which we have scheduled migrations to for some sites in preparation of this upgrade. Your app(s) might be included in this upgrade even if they do not currently reside on either of those nodes (this information is visible within the App details section in Atomic, or you can check with our Support Team). The migrations are scheduled as a separate maintenance action, occurring January 11, 2023, located at the following link: https://status.pagely.com/incidents/50skcb6wf0xp
