Update

We are implementing this change now. Any newly created or reloaded apps will reflect the "new" version tags (latest is PHP 8.3, upcoming is PHP 8.4). Existing apps will be updated to reflect the new versions over the next few hours.

Scheduled

Pagely will be performing PHP lifecycle management for all apps currently set to use the "latest" or "upcoming" versions of PHP. For more information on how you can view or manage your PHP version preferences, check our help guide: https://support.pagely.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000013092-Changing-PHP-Versions

On February 24, 2026, the PHP version corresponding to "latest" in Atomic will change from 8.2 to 8.3. At the same time, "upcoming" will change from 8.3 to 8.4. Excluding any compatibility issues that may arise, the impact to website availability will be very brief - usually less than one minute - while the version change is being applied. We will strive to make the changes during slow traffic periods based on your VPS' region.

Pagely regularly updates the PHP version used by these labels. If you want to keep an app on a specific version of PHP, you may select "Do not automatically upgrade my PHP version" for that app. (If you have an app where that already is set, there will be no change to your app as part of this maintenance.)

As a proactive measure, we will be scanning all apps using the "latest" or "upcoming" versions of PHP, and will send notifications to account owners in the next few days. Please take a moment to make sure the appropriate collaborators on your account are enabled to receive Maintenance alerts in Atomic: https://support.pagely.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058630471-Configuring-Account-Activity-Alerts

While our pre-scanning will detect many issues, every site is unique, and we cannot anticipate all possible errors. We encourage all customers to review their applications, and to pin them to a specific PHP version if needed.

Thank you for your understanding and do not hesitate to reach out to our team with any questions or concerns. We're here to help!
