This maintenance does not affect customers using our VPS (Developer, Performance, and Enterprise) plans.
Pagely Engineers are preparing to upgrade PHP on the Shared Hosting Cluster from version 8.1 to 8.3. PHP 8.1 is not officially supported anymore but we are still receiving security patches from a third-party vendor, however, many plugins and themes have dropped support for it so we decided to replace it with a supported version (8.3).
On the scheduled date(s), we will be performing supervised upgrades on all shared web nodes. During the upgrade, individual sites may experience a brief disruption, normally just a few seconds. We will be performing basic checks after the transition to ensure sites are loading correctly. If we detect any issues, we will attempt to remediate the issues and reach out to let you know.
With that said, this is a fairly low-risk change. WordPress Core, as well as many popular plugins out there, are compatible with PHP 8.3. Generally, updating plugins and themes will resolve most issues, however you may need to make changes to custom code, or, in the case of using paid plugins, you may need to obtain an updated version from the plugin's author. Any code changes you may need to make have to be deployed prior to the start date of this maintenance.
Please review your sites ahead of time to confirm that there will be no issues after this upgrade.
